2019 Mitsubishi Outlander’s Safety Earns Top Safety Pick

For the sixth year in a row, the 2019 Mitsubishi Outlander has earned a Top Safety Pick recognition from the Insurance Institute of Highway Safety (IIHS). This reaffirms the Mitsubishi Outlander’s safety reputation.

To be eligible for this award, the Outlander earned the top “good” rating in all crash tests, including the difficult small overlap front test for both the driver and passenger sides. It also earned a “superior” rating for its available front crash prevention technology and an “acceptable” rating for its available headlights.

“As an engineering-focused company, we build safety, quality and dependability into every one of our vehicles,” said Mark Chaffin, chief operating officer, Mitsubishi Motors North America, Inc. (MMNA).  “Earning the IIHS Top Safety Pick is a key reason for customers to place the Outlander at the top of their shopping list, proving it one of the most competitive vehicles in the incredibly popular compact SUV segment.”

Standard safety features on the Outlander include a rearview camera, seven air bags, Hill Start Assist electric parking brake, Active Stability Control with Traction Control Logic, and a Tire Pressure Monitoring System. The available SEL Touring Package adds Lane Departure Warning, Adaptive Cruise Control, Forward Collision Mitigation, Automatic High Beams, and a multi-view camera system. The SEL trim comes standard with Rear Cross Traffic Alert and Lane Change Assist. Experience the high-tech defenses of the 2019 Outlander firsthand when you stop by High Point Mitsubishi for a test drive.
